Veronica Sawyer é uma jovem que consegue entrar para o grupo das Heathers, as meninas populares e bonitas da escola. Mas elas têm um comportamento tão pedante e fútil que Veronica sente vontade de matá-las. Após começar a namorar Jason Dean, um outsider que chegou à escola recentemente, as mortes tornam-se realidade mas sempre simuladas, como se fossem suicídios.
